Hi, I’m Kathleen—psychotherapist, founder of Kota Therapy, and someone who's deeply curious about what it means to be human.
My journey began over 25 years ago with a degree in Psychology, but life took me into the world of marketing—eventually becoming Commercial Director at a company I helped build. Working closely with founders and creatives, I saw firsthand how deeply personal our professional lives can be—and how much support we all need at times.
After navigating my own health struggles and periods of reflection, I felt a shift. In 2020, I began retraining as a Transactional Analysis therapist and am now a BACP-registered practitioner working with clients in Manchester.
Creating Kota Therapy
As I neared the end of my training, I realised how difficult it was to find affordable, flexible, and truly calming spaces to see clients. So I created Kota Therapy—not only as a space for my own practice but as a place to support fellow therapists stepping into private work.
Kota is designed to feel calm, comfortable, and welcoming—whether you're sitting in the therapist’s chair or seeking support as a client.
Therapy with me
In my work as a therapist, I bring warmth, presence, and a deep respect for each person's story. I support people through a wide range of challenges including anxiety, overwhelm, identity, loss, and feeling stuck in life or relationships.
If you’re curious about therapy or considering working together, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to explore whether it feels like a good fit.
